Join me as I host podcast episodes around Scotland, working with national and local partners to unearth some of the great storytellers that this great wee land offers us. I interview all sorts of folk doing wonderful, interesting and innovative things….things that may not get as much attention as they should in the increasingly frantic world of tourism. The hope is to encourage visitors to slow down and to avoid tick boxing, to listen and delve deeper than surface level and, naturally, pick up a tip or two on how to get the absolute most from your travels in Scotland.
You can listen to each episode individually in your browser by clicking the play button (top left) and also via Soundcloud, Apple Podcasts and Spotify, as you prefer.
The West Highlands
I explore close to home in this 2022 series with some adventures in Lochaber, the West Highlands. Following the Road to the Isles and including the villages of Glenfinnan, Arisaig and Mallaig, it’s a look at what has and continues to make the area tick. History, industry, transport and, of course, Scottish seafood are never far away!
I also head a little further south to explore the peninsulas along the road to Ardnamurchan with stops in Strontian, Ardtornish, Morvern and the fascinating Isle of Carna.
